We’re Gonna Let it Shine! The History of the New Year’s Retreat

It started off just me and my son Gio. Year after year, we would go to a little lake together in Pennsylvania, around 11:30pm, Without a soul in sight except for us.

We would verbalize our New Year's intentions to each other on the shore of the lake underneath the spacious stillness of a thousand stars.

Then, just before midnight, would bring in the New Years in Silence.

We would have all kinds of powerful spiritual experiences and deep insights during that time. We would see shooting stars, comets.. even UFOs one year!

It felt like relaxing into a deeper dimension of reality—one in which the span of what’s possible widened considerably, allowing the coming year to unfold from the seeds planted at that depth.

This ritual was so much more of a powerful way to bring in the New Years than the mindless drinking and drugging so much of the rest world was doing, that I felt deeply called to share it with others.

In 2017 for the first time I did, and that was the first ever Big Glow New Year's Retreat.

I've scheduled a New Year's Retreat every year ever since, bringing in New Year's with hundreds of people over that time.
